Higashi Shuzo – The Spirit of Kagoshima

Based in Kagoshima, on the southern tip of Kyushu, Higashi Shuzo is dedicated to the traditional craft of authentic Japanese shōchū. The region’s volcanic soil, warm climate and pristine natural water provide an ideal environment for producing distinctive sweet-potato shōchū.

Among the brewery’s signature expressions is Kai, an elegant imo shōchū that captures the character of Kagoshima. Crafted with carefully selected sweet potatoes and black koji, Kai balances the rich, earthy character of sweet potato with a clean, refined finish.
